Pino Pascali

(Bari, 19 October 1935 – Roma, 11 September 1968)

An eclectic artist and one of the most important exponents of poor art, Pascali was a sculptor, set designer and performer.
In his works he combines the roots of Mediterranean culture (the fields, the sea, the land and animals) with the playful dimension of art: a cycle of works is dedicated to weapons, real toys made by recycled materials (metals, straw, ropes) and many of his works reproduce the icons and fetishes of mass culture.
In the series Reconstruction of Nature, started in 1967 Pascali analyses the relationship between industrial production and nature.
