Piero Dorazio

(Rome, 29 July 1927 – Todi, 17 May 2005)

He was an Italian painter and architect, with his painting he contributed since 1945 to the affirmation of abstractionism in Italy.
He is one of the signatories of the Forma Uno manifesto, together with the likes of Pietro Consagra, Ugo Attardi and Carla Accardi, with whom he ratified his full adherence to the movement of abstractionism.
During the sixties he was director of the fine arts department of Pennsylvania University.
He exhibited his own works in three editions of the Venice Biennale, in 1960, 1966, 1988.
From 1974 he retired to Todi, while continuing to create, where he died in 2005.
