He attended classical high school and then, in 1945, the Faculty of Literature.
He founded the Gruppo Arte Sociale (GAS) and in 1947 participated in the drafting of the manifesto Forma 1 (signed also by Accardi, Attardi, Consagra, Dorazio, Guerrini, Sanfilippo, Turcato) that is published in the first issue of the magazine that has the same name.
Presented by Lionello Venturi, Perilli participates in the First International Congress of Art Critics held in Paris (21-28 June 1948), presenting together with Dorazio a report on the situation of 20th century Italian painting.
In 1979 he organized for the city of Rome the exhibition ‘The Polish avant-garde 1910-1978’ at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
In the eighties Perilli participates in the creation of "Retina", a review of the artists, where he publishes the manifesto Theory of Geometric Irrational.
